FENTON, William Wallace

Hillsboro – Funeral services were set for Friday afternoon in the Methodist Church here with Rev. OR Mason, New Richmond in charge and interment in Rose Hill Cemetery for William Wallace Fenton, 89, who died Wednesday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dansy McBroom.  Mr. McCain (sic) was a member of Co K, 135th Indiana Regular Volunteer infantry and was one of Cain Township’s last two surviving Civil War veterans. Mr. Fenton was born at Green Hill, Jan 1, 1843 and was married to Diana Jane Campbell who died in 1926. Their early married life was spent in Pine Village but the family had lived here 35 years.  Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. McBroom and two sons, Aughe Fenton, Indianapolis and LV Fenton, Wagoner, Okla.
